DEPARTMENT OF PROSTHODONTICS & CROWN AND BRIDGE
The speciality has defin6ed as a branch of dentistry related to the restoration and maintenance of oral function, comfort, appearance and the replacement of missing teeth and contiguous oral and maxillofacial tissues with artificial substitutes.
The department provides various treatments to the patients that include complete dentures, Removable Partial Dentures, Fixed partial dentures, Maxillo Facial Prostheses, Implant-Supported Prostheses etc.
Education and training of students in the speciality of prosthodontics are carryout through Lectures, seminars, chair-side discussions, demonstrations, preclinical exercises, lab technology sessions, journal club presentations, CDE programmes, Clinical case presentations etc..
Student’s evaluation and monitoring of their educational and practical competence is an integral part of departmental activities. These are assessed by the methods of continuous assessment of performance through their regularity in attending lectures, clinical sessions and internal assessment both in theory and practicals, completion of clinical work quota etc.
MDS student’s progress monitored daily and their progress recorded in their logbooks in a format prescribed by Dental Council of India. Dental Implants are an integral part of training in PG curriculum.
